First steps
Welcome to the SEO for Microsites chapter in the Tracking module of Fourvenues Academy. In this chapter, you’ll learn what SEO is and how to optimize your microsite. Let’s get started!
What Is SEO and Why Is It Important for Your Microsite?
SEO is a set of actions aimed at improving a website’s ranking in search engines like Google, Bing, or Brave. These actions help your website appear in the top results on these platforms.
Goals of Working on SEO
The main goal of working on SEO for your microsite is to help it rank better on Google and increase your organic traffic, creating more chances to sell. For this, you’ll use keywords, which are the words or phrases people type into search engines.
Types of SEO Optimizations
Optimizations not visible:These are set by code and are not directly seen on the microsites.
Visible or content-based optimizations:These will be shown as visible content on the microsite and will be explained in the next chapter.
Non-visible SEO Optimizations
In this chapter, you’ll focus on the SEO optimizations that are not visible on your microsite. First, go to Settings > Website Configuration > SEO Tab.
Once inside, you’ll first see the meta title and meta description. These are automatically set by Fourvenues, reflecting your organization’s data.
Optimizing Meta Title and Meta Description
Remember, this content is not visible on your microsite—it is embedded in the website code and shown in Google search results when someone searches for a related keyword.
The default values shown are:
Meta title: MAZE – your organization name + Tickets, Guestlists, and VIPs.
Meta description: Buy your tickets, guestlists, and VIP areas for MAZE – your organization name – and enjoy the best parties. Don’t miss a single event! ➡ Click here!
If these values don’t suit your business model and you want to change them, here are some tips from the Fourvenues SEO team:
Meta title: Max 55 characters, include your organization name and relevant terms like “tickets”, city name, or event name.
Meta description: Clear and concise, max 155 characters, explaining what users will find and ending with a call to action.
Optimizing Non-visible Keywords
In the keywords field:
You’ll find a free-text area where you can add keywords separated by commas, up to 500 characters. Useful examples for most businesses include:
Your organization’s name, e.g., MAZE
Your organization’s name + CITY
Organization name + VENUE TYPE (e.g., club or nightclub)
Organization name +TICKETS
Any identifier specific to your venue
What Are Not Considered Keywords?
Recommendation: Avoid generic words like: nightclub, Barcelona, party, night, music, dance, fun, drinks, DJ, events, local, exclusive, entertainment, friends, live music, modern. Those are not keywords!
